Combining Excellent Academics with a Christ-Centered, Family-Valued Environment. St. Margaret Mary School has been chosen as 2010 "Best of Chino" in Religious Schools category by the U. S. Commerce Association (USCA). This is the second year we have been chosen for this award.
Important Information..... Kindergarten and First Grade will be on a minimum day schedule through September 3rd. Grades 2 - 8 will start full day schedule on August 31st. Preschool orientation will be Wed., Sept 1 for M-W-F class and Thurs., Sept. 2 for T-Th class. Orientation is from 8:00-9:00. Preschool classes start Wed., Sept. 8 ************************************************************************************************************ - Back To School Nights - September 8th (Wednesday) - K-5 - September 9th (Thursday) - 6-8 There will be a mandatory meeting for parents at 6:00 p.m. and classroom visits from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. (5 additional PIP points will be added to your total if you are unable to attend) ************************************************************************************************************ - September 1st - 10th - Book Fair - September 10th - Student Council Installation - September 15th - Picture Day - September 15th - School Board Meeting, 7:00 p.m. - September 17th - 5th Grade Prayer Service - September 18th - Bingo Night

Fundraisers
Fall Fundraiser - September 3rd - September 17th Every student that participates in the Fall Fundraiser will earn "free dress" on a specified date.
Regular School Hours
Kindergarten - 7:50 - 2:30 Grades 1 thru 5 - 7:50 - 2:40 Grades 6 thru 8 - 7:50 - 2:50
Morning Prayer, over the intercom, will start promptly at 7:50.
Minimum Day Dismissal hours are at 12:00, gr. K-3 and 12:05, gr. 4-8
Dennis Uniform Please remember the shoe policy when you are purchasing shoes for your child - only red, black, gray or white shoes may be worn. Shoes may have a combination of those colors. Socks must be a solid color (gray, black, red, or white). Shoelaces must also be a solid color. Please check page 16 of the handbook.
All uniforms, including sweatshirts and jackets, must be purchased from Dennis Uniform Co. only.
A small supply of used uniforms are available in the office.
Please Remember... The front parking lot between the church and the old hall is for church personnel and parishioners attending Mass in the morning. Therefore, NO DROPPING OFF or PICKING UP of students is permitted in this area during the school day. Please use the Telephone Ave. entrance.
Cell phone use while driving in the parking lot is prohibited. Safe Environment Training--All volunteers must take the on-line Safe Environment for the Protection of Children course available through the Diocese of San Bernardino web site: www.sbdiocese.org. Click on "Protect Children"--Online Training--Safe Environment and follow screen directions. Bring printed certificate to the office for your records.
St. Margaret Mary Curriculum is in line with California State standards. A detailed book outlining our curriculum is located in the school office for review. Additional information concerning California State standards can be found at www.cde.ca.gov

Fingerprints
Fingerprints must be cleared through the Diocese in order for you to work with children. This includes attending field trips, birthday parties, and class events. If you have not had your fingerprints done, please stop by the office for the required form which you will need to take with you.
